Parable 25 & 26

The Sign of Jonah

25. A Friend in Need & 26. Lamp on a Stand

Luke 11:1-36

Spoken during the winter of 27 CE as Yeshua teaches in the Dead Sea valley on Dec. 21, 4027.

Luke 11:1 One time, after Yeshua had finished praying, one of his disciples said to him, “Master, teach us to pray like “Yochanan also taught his disciples to pray.” 2 Yeshua said to them, “Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, Holy is your name YeHoVah. May your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 Forgive us our sins, as we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

5 Yeshua said, “Which of you would go to your friend at midnight, and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves. 6 A friend of mine has come to me in his journey, and I have nothing to set before him.’ 7 And from within he shall answer, ‘Trouble me not: the door is shut and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give you.’ 8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his constant asking he will rise and give him as much as he needs. 9 So I say to you, keep asking, and it shall be given you; keep seeking, and you shall find; keep knocking, and it shall be opened to you. 10 For every one that asks receives; and he that “seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone [that looks like a loaf of bread]? If he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being burdened with hardships, give splendid gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Ruach Kodesh to those who ask him?”

14 Yeshua was casting out a dumb demon, and when the demon left him, the dumb spoke. The people wondered, 15 but some of them said, “He casts out demons through ba’al zevuv the prince of the demons.” 16 Others, tempting him, asked him for a sign from heaven. 17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls. 18 If hasatan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? Because you say that I cast out demons through ba’al zevuv, 19 I say, if I, by ba’al zevuv cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 20 But if I with the finger of YeHoVah cast out demons, no doubt the kingdom of JeHoVah has come to you. 21 When an armed strong man keeps his palace, his goods are secure. 22 But when one stronger than he shall come upon him and overcome him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils. 23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathers not with me, scatters. 24 When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it walks through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, it says, ‘I will return to my house from whence I came.’ 25 When it returns, it finds the house swept and garnished. 26 Then it goes out, and brings back seven other spirits more wicked than itself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

27 As he spoke these things, a certain woman among the company lifted up her voice, and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bare you, and the breasts from which you have suckled.” 28 But he chuckled, “Even more blessed are those who hear the word of JeHoVah, and keep it.” 29 When the people crowded together, he said, “This is an evil generation: they seek a sign and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Yonah the prophet. 30 For as Yonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The Queen of the South shall rise up in judgment against the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, one greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh shall rise up in the judgment against this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Yonah; and, behold, one greater than Yonah is here.”

33 “No man, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a closet, neither under a basket, but on a lampstand, that they which come in may see the light. 34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore if you have one single eye, your whole body is full of light; but if your eye is blind, your body is full of darkness. 35 Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not blindness. 36 If your whole body is full of light, and there is no darkness in you, your whole life shall be full of light, as when a bright shining lamp gives light.”

{Lk 11:4.1} Yeshua first taught this pattern or outline for prayer to the few disciples who climbed the mountain to hear him teach his first recorded message to Israel in event <62>. Few disciples follow the pattern today; they just mindlessly repeat the words like it is some kind of magical mantra. Some congregations completely ignore Yeshua’s teachings altogether, and follow the patterns instituted by the rabbis.

Have you ever wondered what is in the 689th chapter of the Holy Scriptures?  Could it match something from the 1200th chapter verse?  Is it a parable path not yet seen, a bountiful harvest of plenty?  Let's us Take The Journey, one that is endless as the time found in the moment of the twinkling of an eye!  Let's seek out the 689th chapter for we now know it is the appointed time.

This mining is endless, as endless as time itself, full of mysterious ways of Our Father who makes His Art in Heaven!  Let us drink the water from His deep well!  Go and read the Proverb that will set us along The Way.  Let Proverbs 25:2 be written upon your heart this very day.

The Holy Scriptures are now set before us, likened to Cloven Tongues of Fire.  Yea, likened unto a clean sacrificial lamb giving its blood upon the altar for all time.  Their cloven hooves should remind us of the time before and the time when He was with us.  In the west, we know them as the Old and the New, but in reality they each stand together - bonded as we are joined with Ruach ha Kodesh for this journey before the age is through.  As Cloven Tongues of Fire flicker over our heads, like the flaming bush upon the mountain, a mystery burning brightly for the branches are made incorruptible, Oh Father take us by the hand that we may go on this Journey with YOU!

Oh Mighty JeHoVah, let our candle burn bright for the many.  Let the illuminated path through the darkness reveal all the paths and speak to the hearts of those brought forth, Yea the Kings and Priests in the Order of Melchizedek.   Let us serve for all time in Your Holy Temple.  We give Rejoicing Thanks in the name of your son, Yeshua - Yea also known as Jesus to those that are starting out with us.

Muzzle not the Ox while he treads out the grain.  Let us be as flour for the oil, placed upon the fire to be  your bread,  a living sacrifice shining upon the hill, that those in the darkness may find The Way to Everlasting.  Like a child with endless faith, trust and love for the Father, let this bonding bring a sweet tear to the corner of your eye.
