Mark 2:21-22 ~ Luke 5:36-39

Mark 2:21-22

Mark 2:14 As Yeshua passed by, he saw a Levite, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at a toll booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” He arose and followed him. 15 As Yeshua reclined at the dinner table in his house, many publicans and sinners also reclined together with Yeshua and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 When the sages and Prushim saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples, “How is it that he eats and drinks with publicans and sinners?” 17 When Yeshua heard it, he said to them, “Those who are whole have no need of a physician, only those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Mark 2:18 The disciples of Yochanan and the disciples of the Prushim were accustomed to fast, and they came to Yeshua and said, “Why do the disciples of Yochanan and of the Prushim fast, but your disciples do not fast?” 19 Yeshua replied, “Can the family of the bridal party fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 20 The day will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them. Then, in those days, they will fast. 21 No man sews a piece of new cloth on an old garment, because the new piece will shrink and tear away from the old, and the rend will be made worse. 22 Also, no man puts new wine into old wineskins, because the new wine will burst the wineskins. The new wine will be spilled, and the wineskins will be destroyed. New wine must be put into new wineskins.”

But what does a Levite wear if not fine linen?  As he travels along The Way he finds many that will follow though most are filthy, making him wonder why he is with them.  Let us take the service of The Temple into the dark places and share The Word with them.  For it is always The Word that touches their heart, bringing forth the ripening changes within them.  Patches aren’t put on to cover the hearts of men, for they must put on the fine linen, be as a new wine skin, before the wine, The Holy Spirit, can be put into those which have been reborn through Him.  Let the filthy rags be burned upon the altar, refining them as pure gold at the dawn of the early morning light.

Luke 5:27 As Yeshua left Kfar Nahum, he saw a publican, a Levite, sitting at a toll booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” 28 He rose up, left all, and followed Yeshua. 29 The Levite made a great feast in his own house, and a great company of publicans and others came and reclined with them. 30 But their sages and Prushim murmured against Yeshua’s disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?” 31 Yeshua answered them, “Those who are whole do not need a physician; but those that are sick. 32 I did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” 33 They then asked him, “Why do the disciples of Yochanan fast and pray often, just as the disciples of the Prushim; but yours eat and drink?” 34 Yeshua said to them, “Can you make the family of the bridal party fast while the bridegroom is with them? 35 The day will come that the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.”

Luke 5:36 He also spoke a parable to them: “No man takes a piece of cloth out of a new garment and sews it into an old garment. The new cloth will make another tear, because it is incompatible with the old garment. 37 Likewise, no man puts new wine into old wineskins. The new wine will burst the inflexible old wineskins. The wine will pour out, and the wineskins will be destroyed. 38 New wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. 39 Furthermore, no man, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new wine, because he claims, ‘The old is better.’”

Let us rejoice at the Feast times for these are the times when we are with Him.  He seeks out those who you’ve told again and again, Come and Follow Me for I will reveal The Way unto Him.  We lift our cups rejoicing and drink down the old wine with them.  Our hearts are full of peace joy and love towards the many hearts that have came along with us, those that now follow Him.  But now let us go forth in remembrance Yeah, in remembrance of Him, who said I’ll not drink from this cup until the bridegroom has consummated His Divine Love unto the mystery of His bride, revealed now to all, the remnant dear friend.  For we fast as we wait for our special time with Him, staying pure and made ready for the brightness of His coming back again.  As we fast, the new wine is found expanding the newness of our skin.  Eating Bread daily, taking a sip of wine on the Sabbath Day in remembrance of Him.
